Blockchain technology, which originated with digital currencies, has begun to spread across the global market as the most reliable way to store and verify data. It is now often considered to be a practical solution to many business and sustainability vulnerabilities. In order for blockchain to be accepted across all sectors in the global marketplace, it was necessary to build trust between all parties. This is where ISO standards come in, playing a fundamental role in developing rules, security improvements, authenticity, traceability, privacy, sustainability, operability, scalability, ways to avoid legal pitfalls and much more.
In 2016, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) established the ISO/TC 307 technical committee in order to consider the standardization of blockchain and technology distributed by ledger to support interoperability and data exchange between users, applications and systems.
In 2020, we became a member of the Technical Standards Committee TNK 754 Working Group on ISO/IEC 307 Blockchain and distributed ledger technologies.
What does this mean for us?
We control what standards are put in place and when.
We participate in the revision or creation of new standards at an international level.
Our processes and activities are compatible with the latest standards.
We know what is coming.
To date, seven standards have been issued and another ten are in various stages of development. Previews of all standards are posted on the Technical commitee's website.
In the Czech Republic, the standard "ČSN ISO 22739 - Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology - Glossary" is accessible, in whose translation we actively participated.
If you are interested in more information about the standards, please email or call us.
